About Me

I’m 34 and have been blogging in some fashion since my early 20′s. I currently work as a psychotherapist on the west coast of the US. I am strong like an ox and tall like an Amazon. I read tabloid headlines obsessively but I pretend that I don’t.

As you can see, this blog dates back many years and chronicles my lifelong difficulties with weight, fitness, binge eating disorder, and body image. During the vast majority of that time, I weighed over 300 pounds. Sometimes well over 300 pounds. Thanks to my own personal therapy, learning new alternatives for coping, the love and encouragement of my great support system, and brutal, raw determination, I have largely overcome my issues with food.

As of December, 2009, I am following the plan developed and published by Dr. Rob Huizenga, the chief medical consultant for The Biggest Loser. Because there don’t seem to be any other bloggers stupid crazy silly enough to attempt this undertaking, I figured I’d better blog about it and blaze the trail.
