Naked Saturday: 288.8 (-65.8)

Celebrating: 65 pounds gone! Not to mention crossing the 289-pound mark, which now means that I have less than 100 pounds to lose and, most importantly, I no longer qualify for free weight-loss surgery! The option is off the table!

Important note: I now understand how dangerous it is to achieve goals without having a new goal. It’s like telling the universe, “Thanks for all the help — but I feel like stalling out now.” So, my next goal will be to weigh under 275 by Valentine’s Day. This makes me seem like a real under-achiever, but consider this. Sometime in the next month I will have major surgery, and I assume my recovery will not include vigorous exercise or even hours of standing in the kitchen, cooking. Also, I’d like to make it through the holidays without having a major diet meltdown. It is still my goal to weigh under 289 pounds by the end of 2008 and under 275 by Valentine’s Day. I promise to adjust these numbers as needed, but I’d rather adjust them down than up.

Grateful for: having a computer again. Last night, I got my geek on and replaced my hard drive. I still haven’t tried to restore the backup of my personal weight spreadsheet (with handy-dandy charts!) but I will do that later today. Looks like I will be able to post more frequently again!

Starting weight: 354.6 pounds
Last week: 291.4
This week: 288.8
Change this week: -2.6
Total change: -65.8
Next milestone: 70 pounds gone
Current goal: 275 by Valentine’s Day

Congrats! An appropriate goal since today is the faux-valentine’s day… since one a year isn’t enough. I was at the grocery store at 6:15 am getting breakfast for work (yeah, on a saturday)… and the two guys in front of me were buying roses. I thought it was Feb! Turns out it is sweetest day. So, may you have a sweet day of new dreams and good old back pats for all that you’ve accomplished.

My first (of two) year of losing (this time) I had sinus surgery the first week in November and was not released for exercise until that following February.

I was on a mission for those 3+ months. Like get out of my way - don’t mess with me - I am maintaining for 3 months no matter what I have to do.

I ate extremely carefully for that whole time. I ate NO empty calories - my body was trying to recover - each bite was healthy and made the most of every single calorie.

It made the holidays EASIER for me - because working off ANY extra calories was simply not an option. . .You can work it to your advantage if you get your mind in the groove and go with it.

Awesome! You are very level-headed about your goals and I admire that. It’s important to have goals. Right now I don’t have goals and I’m struggling like crazy. I’m finding it very difficult to get re-motivated. Wow, 65 lbs! That’s very cool :)

    You are awesome!

    I’m so impressed and inspired.

That’s a good, realistic goal. I don’t use numbers as goals, it pisses me off too much, but I think if it works for you, go for it!!

    Best wishes!

Congrats!! SO true about goals. I’ve fallen into that trap before - the last time when I didn’t have a definitive goal after I lost 50 lbs. That lead to complacency and floundering. Mmmm, flounder. ;)
