When I found out my dad was in the ER, I took 6 pieces of chocolate, went into my office, and shut the door.

My dad had a stroke on Christmas Eve. I had my first Coke-a-cola I’d had in months in the ER..and if I could have found the other machines…. (he’s going to be okay. he was very lucky). Be kind to yourself. Hope your dad is okay. Serenity prayer helped me (and I’m not typically a prayer person).
I’m agreeing with Shauna — it’s better than 12 pieces. No one can be perfect, esp. when it’s a stressful situation. And I hope your dad is better AND you’re being kind to yourself.

Well, at least it wasn’t 12 pieces. I hope your dad is okay.

Somethings are smaller than others in the big picture. Fingers crossed for your dad.

That sounds about right. I hope your dad’s well and that you are too.
