Maybe the problem is that we all see the track as literally a track in a field going around in circles. Maybe the reality is that the track is a long trail that meanders quite a bit and even has picnic tables with food on it on the wayside. Sometimes the view is pretty and other times, I've found myself standing on a cliff. But it's harder when you have the big self-loathing thing going on (and I fight that ALL THE TIME myself). Just remember that people love you, care about you, think you're smart and clever and pretty.

I think it's "the track"...we always beat ourselves up about it. I think we should be able to veer off of it now and then and not feel like crap :).

I'm always in gravest danger when "The Track" turns into "The Rut". That kind of thinking does wreck some havoc with my already abundant all-or-nothing mentality. I'm with you on the middle finger.

I think it's more like you're always on track, but you get run over if you stop moving.

I'd be inclined to go with hating the track. You're right, there shouldn't be a track to be on or off.

Me? I just hated the smug weigh in ladies. Most of them were fat, but I always felt like they took great delight in any gain they got to record.

Glad to see you're alive and kicking.
