Week 5: 317.0 (-18.8)
February 2nd, 2007 at 1:26 pm (Physical)
Starting weight: 335.8
Last week: 318.2
This week: 317.0
Change this week: -1.2
Overall change: -18.8
Next milestone: 20 pounds gone
Okay, so I did not pass the 20 pounds milestone as I’d hoped. That’s okay, though. 1.2 is a very respectable number for a woman who still isn’t really exercising due to December’s broken tailbone.
Instead of announcing the passing of the 20-pound milestone, then, I would like to introduce the triumphant return of Skinny Pants.

Okay, so they’re not Skinny Pants in the traditional sense of the term. They’re not size 12 or 8 or 00 whatever it is the kids are wearing these days. But I’m accustomed to wearing a size 28 or even 32 (yes, 32) pant.
These are my skinny pants — the smallest pair of pants I have ever bought — a Lane Bryant size 26 from eight or nine seasons ago when I fit into them for about a week. Okay, maybe a week and a half. And also, there’s no evidence that they actually fit anything more tangible than my fertile imagination back then, but I decided to try them on yesterday morning and whoosh! On they went.
At first I was annoyed. “My pants are staticky,” I’d complain to whomever wanted to listen (and, of course, plenty of people who didn’t). Then, around lunchtime I went to check them in the mirror and complain even more. It turns out the pants weren’t staticky at all. They just fit. I could feel them against my legs because they fit.
Now there’s a concept.

Whoo-hoo! Congrats! Love fitting into your own skinny pants.
I need to read some of your old posts -had no idea you’re recovering from a broken tailbone -ouch.

Can I just say that you don’t look big enough to be in a size 26? Seriously! In any case, congrats on your loss. I started at 339 so I totally know how psyched you are to get under that 300 marker!

You carry your weight well, because there is no WAY I would guess those pants are a 26.
But in any case, 1.2 pounds is an AWESOME loss, the kind of loss that is sustainable over time. (Remember, if your weekly loss gets too high, your body freaks out and slows your metabolism.)
And 18 pounds is an incredible loss. You are doing so well.

Wow. You look really good. You do not look like you’re wearing size 26 pants. Keep up with your weight loss. Good luck.

The pants (and the jacket from a couple of days ago) look great. There’s nothing better than “new” old clothes. :) This is my first visit to your blog, and I enjoyed reading your story about the Twins too. (I have to tell you though, I hate those shorts with the writing on the butt way more than Uggs)
Keep up the good work. I do agree with your comment that graphing things really makes a difference — until I put all my weigh-ins on my graph, I felt disappointed that I seemed to be sort of plateau-ing… but it’s just a nice, gradual downward trend.

Congratulations on your skinny pants!!! The scale doesn’t matter nearly as much an an NSV like that. (Sorry to read about your tailbone… Guess I have some catching up to do, too.)
